Carlsquare advised the shareholders of the Hiller GmbH on the sale to Ferrum AG in successful cooperation with lawyer Michael Vilgertshofer from the law firm GRUB BRUGGER.

Headquartered in Schafisheim, Switzerland, Ferrum AG is the global market leader in the can closure business and a specialized niche provider of separation technologies. With the acquisition of Hiller GmbH, Germany, an international innovative specialist in the development and manufacture of decanter centrifuges, Ferrum is making significant progress in the separation technology business.

Over the past almost 50 years, Hiller has gained an excellent reputation as a centrifuge specialist of highest quality with more than 6,000 installations worldwide. As an owner-managed family business, Hiller GmbH employs 150 people and maintains state-of-the-art production facilities at its headquarters in Vilsbiburg, Lower Bavaria. Hiller decanter centrifuges and plants are used in particular in environmental technology / wastewater treatment and in the food industry, but also in the oil and gas industry and chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries. The location in Lower Bavaria with the workforce and the brand name Hiller will be maintained.

“We are extremely pleased to be able to write the next chapter in the history of Hiller GmbH within the Ferrum Group,” says Georg Hiller. “Ferrum is the ideal new owner. Both companies are pursuing the same high quality standards and strive to constantly differentiate themselves through innovation in the international markets.” Georg Hiller will remain with the company as CTO and can therefore devote his full attention to his passion, the further development of decanter centrifuges and the related processes.

Ferrum AG employs more than 800 people worldwide and in addition to the two plants in Switzerland has locations in China, India, Poland, USA and now in Germany.
