Carlsquare launches UK Debt Advisory practice – Andrew Hamilton appointed Director

Carlsquare is expanding its European debt advisory footprint with the launch of a dedicated UK Debt Advisory practice, appointing Andrew Hamilton as Director effective December 2025. Andrew brings more than 20 years of investment banking and leveraged finance experience and will anchor Carlsquare’s debt advisory activities in London.

With this step, Carlsquare scales a service line that has become a market leader in the DACH region. The UK launch strengthens the firm’s integrated M&A and financing offering and supports Carlsquare’s long-term growth strategy across Europe and North America.

Building on a proven platform
The UK team will leverage the strong momentum generated by Carlsquare’s Frankfurt-based Debt Advisory practice, which has originated more than €1 billion in debt across 20 closed transactions over the past three years. By extending this capability to London, Carlsquare gives UK clients direct access to a coordinated M&A and debt advisory suite – backed by a global investor and lender network and sector-driven execution teams.

About Andrew Hamilton
Andrew joins from HSBC, where he spent seven years as Senior Director in the UK Middle Market Leveraged Finance team. Across his career, he has completed more than 80 sponsor-backed financings and over 35 buyouts. His experience spans a wide range of structures, including Senior, Unitranche and 2nd Lien solutions. Andrew brings deep relationships within the UK private equity community and a hands-on approach to complex financing situations.

Working closely with Daniel Gebler, Managing Partner Debt Advisory in Frankfurt, Andrew will advise private equity sponsors and founder-led companies on acquisition, growth and recapitalisation financings, establishing a truly pan-European debt advisory offering.
