Carlsquare advised Vitamaze, a leading VMS e-commerce player, on the sale to Vision Healthcare
Carlsquare exclusively advised Andreas Dittmar, the founder and CEO of Vitamaze GmbH, a leading European e-commerce player active in the vitamins and nutritional supplements markets distributing mainly through online marketplaces and e-pharmacies across Europe, on its sale to Vision Healthcare.
Carlsquare acted as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Vitamaze, working closely with its management team and founder throughout the sale process. This included providing advisory expertise and managing the marketing, negotiation and due diligence phases of the transaction. This sell-side transaction represents Carlsquare’s 14th successful D2C food transaction within the past 24 months.
Andreas Dittmar, founder and CEO of Vitamaze, commented: “We are extremely grateful to Carlsquare for advising us throughout this journey. Vitamaze has found a brilliant new home to grow, and we thank the deal team at Carlsquare for their reliability and diligence throughout the process.”
Vision Healthcare CEO, Geert Cools, followed: “This transaction is mutually beneficial, boosting both Vitamaze and Vision Healthcare as a group. I am very proud to add Vitamaze to our portfolio of own brands, and it will significantly contribute to our aim of becoming the largest D2C player in VMS.”
Founded in 2015, Vitamaze is a fast-growing, premium provider of VMS products (vitamins, minerals, and supplements). These can be found in all major pharmaceutical wholesalers and European e-commerce pharmacies – including DocMorris and Shop Apotheke – as well as European online marketplaces (primarily Amazon). Vitamaze´s growth continues to benefit from its first mover advantage in e-commerce pharmacies.
Vision Healthcare is a digital omnichannel healthcare company that connects consumers with brands of consumer healthcare. The company has a strong European presence and is focusing on expanding its offering of vitamins, minerals, and food supplements with the vision to become Europe’s largest D2C player in the field of VMS. The acquisition of Vitamaze is in line with this ambition, and founder Andreas Dittmar will stay onboard until the end of 2022 to support Vision Healthcare achieve this aim.
