Carlsquare advised VIVA WINE GROUP on the acquisition of

Stockholm based Viva Wine Group is expanding its eCommerce activities and will take over GmbH. With the acquisition the portfolio of the VIVA eCOM GROUP, which was founded in 2020, will be further expanded.

The acquisition of GmbH is a strategic milestone for further, profitable growth of our group.”

Max Gärtner, founder and managing director of GmbH: “Vicampo has become one of the most successful online wine traders in Germany in recent years. Together with our team of almost 200 highly motivated and talented employees, we want to further expand this success over the next years. We are thrilled to start the next phase of our company now together with the teams and strong brands of Viva Wine Group.”

As part of the acquisition, GmbH will join VIVA eCOM GROUP, in which Wine in Black and the Vinexus Group have been combined since 2020. Christian Fricke, Managing Director of VIVA eCOM GROUP, will form the management of GmbH and VIVA eCOM Holding together with Max and Felix Gärtner.

Christian Fricke: “Vicampo and Wine in Black were created in 2011 from a joint start-up project. With the merger under the umbrella of VIVA eCOM GROUP, we have a strong portfolio of successful B2C brands that complement each other perfectly. At the same time, we use the know-how and expertise of our teams in Berlin, Mainz and Butzbach to grow even faster in the future.”

The transaction has been supported by Raymond James (Munich), Noerr (Frankfurt) for Vicampo and Carlsquare (Hamburg), Warth & Klein Grant Thornton (Berlin) and Krohn Legal (Hamburg) for Viva Wine Group.
