Carlsquare advised the shareholders of INTENIUM on the sale to gamigo

30 Sep 2014

gamigo AG, one of the leading publishers and distributors of multiplayer online games, grows significantly and further increases its profitability with the acquisition of INTENIUM GmbH, also based in Hamburg. With the acquisition, gamigo considerably reinforces its position in the mobile-, online-sectors and in the platform-offerings as well. With immediate effect, gamigo acquires 100% of the shares of INTENIUM from the founders and the venture capital firm Neuhaus Partners.

INTENIUM has its focus on women in Europe and successfully serves its clients with mobile- and cross-platform-games. In 2015 already, it is expected that INTENIUM will deliver a revenue contribution of more than EUR 4 million to gamigo and further ad a positive EBITDA totaling to approx. EUR 1 million. The INTENIUM GmbH has 60 employees and provides platforms for multiplayers worldwide, online and downloadable games such as GERMANY PLAYS.  INTENIUM has numerous renowned partners such as Base/E-Plus, image and RTL.

From a strategic point of view, gamigo and INTENIUM complement each other ideally. gamigo, on the one hand, is well positioned in the promotion of its products and has its own affiliate network. INTENIUM will benefit from this. On the other hand, gamigo is going to strengthen the prosperous traffic-portals based on its portal DEUTSCHLAND SPIELT.

Theodor Niehues, Co-CEO of gamigo AG, comments: “With the acquisition of INTENIUM we continue our growth strategy.  In particular, we strengthen promising mobile and online segments by INTENIUM severely and hence increase revenue and profitability.”

Carlsquare advised the shareholders of INTENIUM in the process of this transaction.
