Heute-Wohnen is a D2C e-tailer for furniture and homeware in the Home, Garden & Living space. The products are distributed via different sales channels across Europe (i.a. Germany, Italy, and Spain) – the majority via the company’s own webshop. BWK GmbH will not only support the implementation of the next growth steps but will also accompany the initiation of the company succession.
The married couple Tanja and Alexander Mendler initially started in 2002 with the online trade of electronic products, before very quickly focusing on online sales of the product categories garden & outdoor, living, office, decoration & lifestyle.
Heute-wohnen is characterised in particular by a business approach based on sustainability and sells its products via its own webshop as well as via numerous marketplaces, among others. The company currently employs 93 people at four locations – the administration is located in Welzheim, Baden-Württemberg.
The founder, owner and managing director, Alexander Mendler, will remain with the heute-wohnen group as managing director and shareholder, and the two other managing directors, Hakan Köse and Lars Strohmaier, will also be integrated into the new shareholder structure.
